UK e-Science Certification Authority

Problems accessing the CA or other UK e-Science websites over https with Firefox/Mozilla?

If you get an error message such as:

"Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number"

This is due to a bug in Mozilla-based browsers and can be solved by re-importing the UK e-Science root certificate into your browser:

• Remove the CA root certificate from your browser (listed in Preferences - Advanced - Manage Certificates - Authorities)
• Click this link to import the root: root certificate
• Follow your browser's prompts to store the certificate in the browser's root store.
